About Us

We are a small, two teacher, co-educational, interdenominational primary school under the Patronage of the Church of Ireland. We are located in the historic village of Aughrim, 5km from Ballinasloe in Co. Galway. We have a low pupil teacher ratio, large spacious classrooms and high tech IT facilities. Last year we were very lucky to get a new state of the art school building. We offer extra curricular activities including French, Cookery Skills and Gardening. We have a spacious yard with a large green area where we grow fruit and vegetables each Spring.

Our Mission Statement:

We provide a happy, caring and stimulating environment where children recognise and achieve their full potential. Our school is a place where curiosity and wonder meet excellence and achievement. Through our child centred approach we promote the social, academic, moral, spiritual, physical, aesthetic and emotional development of all pupils. At The Glebe NS children learn respect for themselves and others. We value the partnership that exists between school, parents and community and the part it plays in realising the full potential of each child. The Glebe NS respects the individuality of all children, especially those with special educational needs. The school encourages the professional and personal development of teachers and staff and promotes learning as a lifelong process. While The Glebe NS is a school with a Church of Ireland ethos, it also has due recognition and respect for all other religions. Déanfaimid iarracht Gaeilge a labhairt gach lá agus teastaíonn uainn dearcadh dearfach i leith na Gaeilge a chothú i measc na ndaltaí.
